The Breaker New Waves 119

On the 31th of May I read in a forum that The Breaker New Waves series was going in hiatus for six weeks and I was sad because group of other Manhwa I read have also gone in hiatus. I was finding myself with nothing to read last couple of Fridays. 

I was complete shock and happy to check today and see that new chapter was out and it very good chapter IMHO.

In reading this chapter I find myself seeing that Shi-Woon Yi is acting more mature. Maybe the death of Elder Jun has had very huge effect on him. The shy guy and innocent guy we knew for the few years is no more. Which is good thing to see a character grown and develop. 

I appreciate the hard work site do in translating Manhwa and Mangas but I don't like how they using grandpa on some of the Elder and the Old Doctor. Just doesn't sound right to me how they are applying it. 

I do like Shi-Woon Yi has shown the old doctor his courage, skills and he isn't stupid to fall for the trap the old doctor try to set up. Shi-Woon knew or figure out that old doctor was trying to find way to capture him. His option is to go all out and fight the doctor like he has fight for his life. I do believe Sun Woo clan will arrive and Shi-Woon Yi will win the duel and old doctor dismay. 

I wrote somewhere that I believe the old doctor will be in his alliance some way. The old doctor while  he is pain in the butt he hold to the Murim rules. Any time Shi-Woon has run into someone that hold tradition he win over. 

Ok I do hope there is another chapter next week.

What a fun and awesome chapter of The Breaker New Waves!

In this 18 pages chapter there some many thing I would like to talk but I will just talk about few starting with Sera complete awesome in getting her way. 

The next part I want to point out is Shi-Woon awesomeness that he show in this panel. 

Shi-Woon getting tire but he holding out for the arrival of his clan. He fighting what might appear to be endless number special forces but then enter the old doctor Ju Sank-Shik. Who has been watching Shi-Woon from a far hoping for Shi-Woon to pass out from exhaustion but is force to attack because of incoming arrival of the Sun Woo clan. 

This how the chapter end in cliffhanger grrrr. I wish the chapter was just little longer but now I got wait till next week and maybe the week after that before this battle is over. I want see just how well Shi-Woon does against this scary high level Murim master. This would be good test just how truly strong Shi-Woon has become since the bombing in the high school. 

Ability

I start read the Manhwa Ability about couple months ago. The first chapter got me interested and I start to follow the series. The story start with little bit mystery about the main character. How he was able to heal or regenerate so quickly.  Thing start once Han Yu-Hwa encounter a little girl in the street. The world he knew forever change. 

He attack of kindness is well explain and show at start of series .

This encounter let to this mysterious gem or egg cracking. This kind took my interest and made want to follow the series. 

After reading almost 32 chapter and I didn't expect Han Yu-Hwa be all powerful but I had hope he made some small progress but this latest chapter make wonder just how long is the writer is going avoid the question. What is this guy special power? Isn't how fast he can heal either. At least I hope that not all of. I don't mind seen him get beat while he learning but right now it kind annoying that he just kind there with nothing special IMHO. 

I will keep reading but I like to see a small tiny improvement for Han Yu-Hwa. Not be a punching bag for the next 50 some odd chapters. 

The Breaker Manhwa Series

This very rough of the top of my head kind summary with possibly many errors but practice make one better in theory...

A former co-worker told me about this series some time around 2009. He suggest I read The Breaker before I was to start on The Breaker New Waves. I quickly felt in love with the series. I had follow it since my first read. 

Reading about Shi-Woon Yi how he struggle with bulling at very on set of the series. It tough not to feel bad for kid struggling like he was. Little to almost not friends and one friend you do have you don't wish for her to be harm because they want help you. Shi-Woon then meets with pervy mysteries teacher Chun-Woo Han who just arrive at his high school. The name of high school translate to Nine Arts Dragon. Which just happen to be a nick/title name that Chun-Woo Han used. Shi-Woon learn that his creepy new teacher is an able fighter and beg him to teach him how fight. Chun-Woo decline and denies that he know any form martial arts. Shi-Woon try to blackmail Chun-Woo but he destroy the cellphone with the recording. This leads to Chun-Woo ask Shi-Woon what would he do learn? Would he be willing to die to learn? 

Chun-Woo shock Shi-Woon is willing to die and to change his current way of life. Even after willing to die to learn sadly Shi-Woon physically is not able to fight and once again he hope are shatter. Until by chance he run into his health teacher Shi-Ho Lee who tell him why his body is limit but does offer him a way out and if does it his world will never be the same again. 

Again Shi-Woon take a plunge to change his life and swallow the pill that will forever change his life. His desire for change open the gate to the world of Murim. In this world of the Murim Shi-Ho and Chun-Woo are going against the establishment led by Martial Arts Alliance. Chun-Woo hold a severe hatre toward for cause of death to his Master. At times during the session with  Shi-Woon he is remind of his old master by what Shi-Woon saids. Shi-Woon prove to be a quick learner and is able to perform complex moves easily after just few demonstration. 

The event in The Breaker soon escalated with efforts by Chun-Woo and Shi-Ho to help Jang So-Sul escape from Martial Arts Alliance control and take her to the Black Forrest Defence. So-Sul was been use by the Martial Arts Alliance to keep the Sun Woo clan under control. But like many thing Shi-Woon is give a gift by So-Sul that again will change his life.

Chun-Woo, Shi-Ho and So-Sul try to make quick escape once the Martial Arts Alliance has learn that they were hiding in Nine Arts Dragon high school. They quickly learn that Shi-Woon Yi has spend a lot time with Chun-Woo and Shi-Ho and they request to speak him. Shi-Woon does not want cause any more trouble for his master nor depend on him as much and he escapes the Martial Arts Alliance which cause a major raucous for the Martial Arts Alliance. 

The Breaker spend quite few chapter covering Shi-Woon effort not get capture by the Martial Arts Allaince to their dismay of how young boy is escaping them. Word is out that Shi-Woon is the disciple of Chun-Woo and he quickly becoming a legend in the Murim. The leadership in Martial Arts Alliance try to use this knowledge to draw out Chun-Woo and capture him. They want force him to reveal the secrets of his martial arts style and reason behind the punishment that Chun-Woo master and later his death. The leader lures Chun-Woo to headquarter of the Martial Arts Alliance along with Shi-Ho as they fight their way up. The leader hope to weaken him so he would face a tire Chun-Woo. 

While much through the Breaker series Chun-Woo has try to curved the sexual advance of Shi-Ho but he has finally admit that he care for her and just as they about to kiss Shi-Woon appear. The three finally reach to roof where the final battle take places. 

The end result of the battle in the roof is Chun-Woo breaker Shi-Woon ki center, Shi-Ho is in coma and Chun-Woo leaves with members of the Black Forrest Defence and promise to return to destroy Murim. Shi-Woon is left distraught in learning that Chun-Woo had betray him in breaking his ki and had release him as a disciple. The breakage of his ki mean he no longer part of Murim. Course this is far for true as we see in the Breaker New Waves. 

No only is he target by rivals of Chun-Woo but Shi-Woon is now the leader of the Sun Woo Clan. The Clan So-Sul has left in his care.

In the Breaker we are introduce two large faction Martial Arts Alliance and Black Forrest Defence. The Black Forrest Defence is using Chun-Woo and were behind Shi-Ho going into a coma after a sniper shot her in the roof. I'm sure Chun-Woo know they are using him but his hatre toward Murim is reason he goes along with it. If he was to learns that they were behind Shi-Ho going into a coma wonder what would his reaction be? This is open question might not get answer for long time if ever...

The Martial Arts Alliance is left in bit chaos aftermarh of battle in rooftop. Many of it members question the leadership one is Sun Woo Clan who now want to rise to power again after they were held in check by the Martial Arts Alliance. There is course another Murim group the mysterious Heavenly Way School "Chun-Do-Moon" and it powerful members. 

Girl The Wild's chapter 89

The arrival of Queen(Yoon In Gyi) to the tournament. Song Jae Gu was just about to tell the ref that they were going forfeit the match because Queen(Yoon In Gyi) had not arrive but she walking into arena just in time. (I will say that she does look very attractive in the black business suit pants she had on.) The always amusing Choi Dal Dal is already jinx Queen to lose her match. 

There is an interesting internal dialog toward the end of this week chapter where Song Jae Gu began to realize that hate he had toward women or the lack of trust had slowly been torn by the kindness of Choi Dal Dal, Lee Moon Young and Queen(Yoon In Gyi).

The mistrust he develop after his mother abandon him and two younger siblings soon after their father die. He had to take the responsibility for taking care of his younger brother and sister and still go school. The answer is left open since Girls of the Wild's is taking a break for a month and next chaper will be in July. 

They do leave this week chapter with Queen throwing a very high kick toward the young gang leader. I hope the kick land and this part of the tournament ends and some other part of the story can told.
