We have two new character introduce in this chapter Dorian the thief but his deepest desire is to be hero and Kenny who is innocent and likely will die soon I'm betting in order for Dorian become a hero. This just my guess from reading the chapter.
They show a very harsh world in Highvaness city. The image of mother disposing of her very sickly child and a container fill with dead bodies. Dorian explain to Kenny that this world is divide between wealthy and the poor. The freedom they got after defeating the Talaiv was a lie.
Dorian look to be quite reckless which costing him quite of bit but yet he well prepare for his escapade and crazy to boot!
The price of eating well...
Dorian is good kid deep inside and protective of Kenny and maybe of others in future I'm guessing just by the fact he knew he was going get beat up by his master for failing to steal the treasure. Now his life is in danger and likely indirectly Kenny too. I'm sure Kenny being the good friend to Dorian will jump in to safe his friend at cost his life. Again I'm just guessing the way Kenny behave just have typical character who sacrifice at very end to effect the main character and set him in a new path.
